The more-than-human ambient that radiates beneath and between the wall of anthropogenic noise. The sound of silence is produced by the stirring of the Earth, including other-than-human animal forces, e.g. birds and insects; geologic forces, e.g. plate tectonics and waterfalls; atmospheric forces, e.g. thunder and lightning; and the interactions of more than one force, e.g. the sound made when the wind rustles through a tree canopy.
